Microbial Translocation Disorders: Assigning an Etiology to Idiopathic Illnesses

چکیده

Gut microbes are immunologically tolerated in the gastrointestinal tract but trigger aggressive immune responses upon translocation across gut barrier. Although oral tolerance, a physiological process that dampens to food proteins and commensal microbiota, remains poorly defined, significant progress was made during after Human Immunodeficiency Virus epidemic 1980s discovery of regulatory T cells 1995. Additional insight gained discoveries innate lymphoid 2008 functional elucidation mucosal mast cells. Prior historical human pathogens, etiologies most diseases were considered unknown. The same true about many genetic disorders prior Genome Project. Here, we hypothesize remaining idiopathic conditions, including autoimmune, fibroproliferative, neuropsychiatric as well some cancers, can be microbial triggered by host extraintestinal and/or their constituent parts. In addition translocation, also discuss potential interventions for intestinal barrier rehabilitation, antibodies against tumor necrosis factor-like ligand 1A membrane lipid replacement supplements.

Evidence for translocation of microbial products in patients with idiopathic CD4 lymphocytopenia.

Translocation of microbial products has been described in chronic human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection and correlates with activation of the immune system. We investigated the potential translocation of microbial products in idiopathic CD4 lymphocytopenia (ICL), a rare disorder characterized by low CD4 T cell counts in the absence of HIV infection. Plasma lipopolysaccharide (LPS) levels...

The process of microbial translocation.

The process of microbial translocation was studied using Candida albicans, Escherichia coli, or endotoxin instilled into Thiry-Vella loops of thermally injured guinea pigs and rats. Translocation of C. albicans occurred by direct penetration of enterocytes by a unique process different from classical phagocytosis. Translocation between enterocytes was not observed. Internalization was associate...

Microbial Translocation in Thermal Injury

Cutaneous injury by thermal burns in experimental animals produces a highly reproducible acute model for studying the barrier function of the intestine wherein the magnitude of microbial translocation is directly associated with the extent of injury. Translocation after burn occurs throughout the intestinal tract with extreme rapidity, reaches an early peak within hours, and then has a less int...

Mental Health Disorders: The Deserted Illnesses

According to the World Health Organization’s (WHO’s) definition, “Mental health is a state of well-being in which an individual can realize his or her own abilities, interact positively with others, cope with the stressors of life and study, work productively and fruitfully, and contribute to his or her family and community.” In short WHO affirms that “There is no health without mental health.”...

A rare etiology of idiopathic acute pancreatitis

Sir, We thank Yagnik[1] for his interest in our article.”[2] Ultrasonography (USG) has low sensitivity in the diagnosis of pancreatic duct ascariasis. This is based on our experience of 17 cases of pancreatic duct ascariasis in the last 11 years, which constitutes the largest single‐centre experience in the world. Out of 17 cases, only 2 were diagnosed with USG. Although USG is quite sensitive ...
